Who we are

We, the British Society of Cardiac Imaging / British Society of Cardiac Computed Tomography (BSCI / BSCCT) and BioMedEx Ltd in its role as the BSCI / BSCCT Secretariat, are committed to protecting the privacy of all personal data you provide to us.

BSCI / BSCCT are a registered charity both on England & Wales (No. 114532) and in Scotland (No. SC046385).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Registration

BSCI membership registration is not handled on this website, but by a third party service called EventsAIR. Members’ names and email addresses are imported from EventsAIR to the database of this website by the BSCI Secretariat in order to provide members with access to restricted materials on this website. As a registered member of this website, you may then modify your name and email address using the account page.

Why are we processing your personal data?

The information provided on the online membership application form will be held by BioMedEx Ltd, in its capacity as the BSCI / BSCCT Secretariat, on the EventsAIR membership platform* in line with the EU GDPR 2018 and any other statutory & legal requirements and will be used for the fulfilment of the BSCI / BSCCT Membership. The BSCI / BSCCT Membership information will be archived by us should your membership lapse in line with statutory requirements. Upon archiving, your membership will be anonymised, and all your personal data will be permanently deleted.

Neither the BSCI / BSCCT nor BioMedEx Ltd, as the BSCI / BSCCT Secretariat, will supply your personal data to any third party except where expressed permission has been given by you or where / when required for the sole purpose of organising the BSCI / BSCCT Membership.

Neither the BSCI / BSCCT nor BioMedEx Ltd will sell your personal data to any third parties.
*EventsAIR is the trade name of the event and membership management platform developed and owned by Centium Software.

All data owned by EventsAIR clients in the European region is held in the Azure data centres in the Netherlands to comply with current EU data protection and handling regulations. A number of new data centres will come online across Europe, including one in the UK, and customer data will be relocated to the relevant geographic data centre as the centres are activated to meet GDPR and other legislative requirements.

The BSCI / BSCCT Membership registration will be archived by us should your membership lapse in line with statutory requirements. Upon archiving, all membership data are anonymised, and all personal data will be permanently deleted.

You authorise SPUKL to perform the Authorised Payment Services in connection with your use of the online payment gateway when paying your membership fees by card online.

Contact forms on this website

If you use the form on our Submit a Course page, in addition to course information, we will require your name and email address in order to contact you about the information you have provided. The data you provide will not be saved in this website’s database, but will be sent to us via email.

ReCAPTCHA is a service provided by Google that allows us to confirm that only real people and not spambots are able to submit our contact forms. When you tick the box that says “I’m not a robot”, Google place a cookie called NID in your browser, that communicates information such as what language your browser is set to, the date, how many mouse clicks you have made on the screen, and what other Google cookies you may have on your device.

Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts API to provide the font faces we use on this website.

To protect the rights, property, or safety of The BSCI / BSCCT in line with the BSCI / BSCCT Safeguarding Policy Statement: The BSCI/BSCCT acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, UK government guidance and complies with Charities Commission and OSCR best practice.
  4. To allow you to receive any membership services or member benefit which is provided by a third party and/or
  5. To provide any services that you ask BSCI / BSCCT and BioMedEx Ltd, in its capacity as the BSCI / BSCCT Secretariat, to carry out either through the website or otherwise.

Disclosure may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults, fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

How long we retain your data

Your personal contact data will be retained by us for up to three (3) years after the conclusion of your BSCI / BSCCT membership and will be used by mail or email solely for marketing of future BSCI / BSCCT events and / or BSCI / BSCCT membership drive.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT A WITHDRAWL OF CONSENT DURING YOUR BSCI / BSCCT MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION WILL RESULT IN YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION NOT BEING SUBMITTED OR PROCESSED, AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE BSCI / BSCCT.

The right to forget or anonymise your personal details

You retain the right to request that we forget or anonymize your personal data.

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
