Applicants for Level 1 accreditation must be Consultants or Specialty Trainees (or Specialty Doctors at an equivalent level) in Radiology, Cardiology or Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Applicants must either have had training at a hospital that provides exposure to the required number of cases (for Level 1 Hospital-based application) or have attended a dedicated Level 1 course delivered by trainers accredited to at least BSCI/BSCCT Level 2 standard (for Level 1 Course-based application).
The onus is on the applicant to demonstrate clearly that they have reached the required standard. Applications that are unclear or do not include all of the required information will be suspended and returned to the applicant for clarification and resubmission.

Level 1 Standard application

- Non member £175
- Applications will be processed within 8 weeks
Level 1 Fast Track
- BSCI/BSCCT member £200
- Non member £275
- Applications will be processed within 2 weeks
For those submitting a fast track application the turnaround time will only start once all relevant and correct information is provided via the accreditation portal for the reviewers to access.
